INsanes_Movie_HUD_addon
UPDATEDJuly 2013... updated to Steampipe.
About the HUD... This HUD was made for people who use Fraps to record a game and want a "NO HUD" look. It is intended for off-line use ONLY! You can use this online ... BUT THINK FIRST!! Why? It removes objects like the Gun on first person view and all other HUD items. Now VAC may not ban you but it could or a plug-in might in the near future... you have been warned.
Basically this HUD removes a lot of items for making a movie, it replaces models, (Optional) so you don't see your gun or forearms.
The HUD will install in your dod\custom folder and attempt to temporarily override your installed HUD and skins, (Skins optional).
It will install to a folder that is called "1AAAAAA_movie_HUD".
If you have custom HUD and/or Skins it will display the ones in this HUD, (NOT overwrite) because the HUD files in this one will load first.
SteamPipe looks at the first folder and normally folders with 1 or A in the file name will load first.
To bring you HUD back to normal simply uninstall this one.
So keep whatever HUD and Skins you have, use this for your Movie and when finished.... just uninstall it and your HUD/Skins is returned to whatever you had before.
Note about Uninstalling. You must use the uninstaller in the dod folder or the add/remove programs list in your Windows control panel. Alternativly you can just delete the folder in...
64 bit systems...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\day of defeat source\dod\custom\1AAAAAA_movie_HUD
OR
32 bit systems...
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\day of defeat source\dod\custom\1AAAAAA_movie_HUD
No use posting a pic for this.... there is no HUD to see anyway! That's the whole point... remove all hud stuff for spec and when you are on a team.
When on a team...you are like a "war correspondent cameraman" . All HUD elemets have been removed and so have the weapons and forearms view, it is like a camera view, if you use a Rifleman class or bazooka in axis or allied you also get a zoom that tightens up the FOV and slows down the speed of the player.... just like a cameraman does when walking with a camera, smooth and slow.
This hud was made for ...
* Clear Screen Shots.
* Clear Movie Making.
* Clear Zoom and Slowed Movement.
When you join Spectator you will find you have...
* No spec' crosshair.
* No Black Bars at the top or bottom.
* No Player name on the bottom.
* No Team info.
* No Object Icons, Kills/Deaths/Caps.
* No Win panel.
* No Chat or Mani Plug-in panel... Note: some other plugin stats may show.
It is the same if you join a team... depending on what class you pick.
If Allies join as a Rifleman your hands and arms are gone, the gun is gone,
The rifle zoom still works in case it suits a "zoomed" movie camera shot.
The bazooka has had the same treatment, all is gone, the bazooka has
very slow movement when the weapon is shouldered... this may help for slow,
pan shots with a movie camera.
I have tested it on-line and it went ok,
SOME PLUG-INS MAY place a panel that the HUD files cannot remove,
like the kill Stats on some servers (Who killed who and damage to what/points)
But I have tried it with normal Mani plug-ins and it was ok with it.
The Shift key will still bring up the bottom menu , just toggle it to displayit or turn it off.
