This is just one file that "darkens" the chat font in dod:s or other Source1 mods.

Chat Font with "outline" added INsane 2025

All this does is add a outline effect to make the font more visible.

The standard dod:s (or other HL2 mods) use the file "chatscheme.res" for the chat area.
The standard font is set as "dropshadow" "1" and this one set that to "0" and puts on "dropshadow" "1"

To install.

Place the folder "dark_chat_font" in dodcustom folder

If you don't know where the dod folders are follow this guide...

To find your dod folder…

* Open your Steam Library
* Right-click on the “Day of Defeat: Source” icon
* Select “Manage” > “Browse local files”
* A folder called “Day of Defeat Source” will pop-up, the dod folder is in there.

Now navigate to and open the ... dodcustom folder

This is where custom files go. The "custom" folder acts like a "dod" folder structure.

* Copy and paste the download folder (hud name) into the custom folder.

If you already have a custom HUD you can take the file "chatscheme.res" and add it to your HUD "resource" folder.
